What happened was what caused humanity to be silenced. From its isolation, the window. How can we silence individuals, their culture, their music, whether they are public or creators? This was probably also the feeling of colleagues in other corners of the world.  My trajectory has always been to share with the world the work of artists close to me.  Artists, friends, foreign colleagues and Brazilians from their windows in Poland, Italy, the United States, China, Turkey, Germany, Canada, Finland, England, Cuba. Foreigners in Brazil. All in one vibration but with their own personalities. The idea arose, from Alvaro Collaço and myself, for each composer to create a song reflecting their anxieties, feelings, hopes, through musical composition for the guitar, in this case an instrument that is a link of union, a unifying force.

Sonorous Windows of guitar

Sonorous Windows of Guitar by Mario da Silva

Suddenly, the silence of humanity. The necessary distancing, the forced isolation, the avoided touch, leaving the gaze from one's window. How can one silence individuals, their culture, their music, the public, the creators?

Looking for a possible connection, I inferred that this was probably also the feeling of colleagues in other corners of the world.

My trajectory has always been to share with the world the production of artists close to me.

In that nebulous situation, half inverted in a mirror, I proposed that each fellow artist reflect from their window in various corners of the world on this new and delicate situation.

Artist friends, foreign colleagues and Brazilians from their windows in Poland, Italy, the United States, China, Turkey, Germany, Canada, Finland, England, Cuba. Foreigners in Brazil. All in one vibration, but with their own personalities. The idea came up, from Álvaro Collaço and me, for each composer to create a song reflecting his or her anguish, feelings, and hopes, through musical composition for the guitar, in this case the instrument as a link of union, a unifying force. That friendly instrument, easy to carry and accompany, and that at that moment we asked and seemed to be telling us, even without words: it will pass.
